From the very first email, I knew Caroline’s destination wedding in Ireland was going to be something truly special.
She, her family, and the Hummingbird Events team flew over from Boston in the United States to celebrate at the incredible Adare Manor – one of the most iconic wedding venues in Ireland.
Over the years, my team and I have refined the experience we provide for overseas brides planning an Irish destination wedding, making sure they feel completely supported long before they even arrive in Ireland.
From our very first call, Caroline, Ellie (my booking assistant) and I stayed connected through WhatsApp messages, voice notes, inspiration photos and video calls, making the entire process feel seamless and personal despite the distance.
With Caroline, it started with a call to discuss her hair and makeup ideas, followed by WhatsApp messages and voice notes sharing inspiration. Before she flew over, we had a final video call to go through the wedding morning logistics and tips to ensure the day ran perfectly. Mandy from Hummingbird Events was there too, helping make sure nothing was overlooked
Caroline wanted a look that felt completely her – elegant, classic, and naturally beautiful.
Meeting Caroline in person after our calls, messages and planning felt incredibly special. The venue itself is breathtaking, with timeless architecture, manicured gardens and an atmosphere that feels effortlessly romantic.
She booked my VIP service, meaning I stayed with her all day and provided a second hair and makeup change for the evening. From morning prep to the reception, she had calm, steady support and looked flawless every step of the way.
With two of my team members, we completed hair and makeup for eight, including Caroline. The morning ran seamlessly, everyone was relaxed, and the bridal party was ready at least an hour before her first look – just in time for her international photographer, Alberto, to capture the most stunning images.
Staying with Caroline throughout the day meant I could be there for touch-ups, reassurance, and all the small adjustments that help brides feel calm and fully present throughout the celebration.
Later, we transformed her into her evening look – a more defined eye and a chic hair change that suited the reception perfectly. It elevated her look while still feeling like her.
Mandy and the Hummingbird team kept the day running effortlessly, and my girls were incredible. The morning flowed beautifully, and the atmosphere remained upbeat and joyful the entire day.
Being part of her entire day, and guiding brides who completely trust my expertise without ever meeting me in person beforehand, is something I’ll never take for granted.
